Meet Sylvia

"Hello and nice to meet you I am Sylvia, a Dutch experienced digital marketing & creative communications specialist in the floral industry of the age of 31 with already 14 years of marketing experience. I am proud to say I’m a triple threat in our industry. This means I have experience in cut-flowers, plants and decorations. The 3 big company-types within the horticulture trade.

At a very young age with my parents being entrepreneurs. I learned that even when you are working for a boss, ownership or entrepreneurship is important. You’ll need this to adapt, develop and eventually evolve.

As a young student I started my higher professional education: Media and Entertainment Management. A marketing, communication studies with the focus on events. After my studies I worked in the event industry, after a while I switched to more digital marketing.

I found a new challenge at one of the leading Dutch flower export companies as a marketing employee. Here I got the change to develop myself and became a Marketing Manager at the age of 28.

I have always been a very all-round skilled marketeer and my next goal is to become a strategic digital marketing professional and eventually get one of the highest marketing recognitions in the Netherlands. 

A lot of the marketing and sales in our business is based upon quick, fast and cheap flowers and plants. But not focused on the needs of floral designers/ consumer. So, my mission is to get that information from florists, designers, garden centre owners, flower and plant lovers and use it as data and argumentation in the early decision-making process at the very first step in the floral chain. How do we get our knowledge and passion through the entire chain? Is not easy but if we work together it is possible.
